Use a ¼˝ seam allowance. Refer to Strip-Set Construction as needed.

STEP 1 Using 10 dark gray 3½˝ × WOF strips and 5 light gray 3½˝ × WOF strips, make 5 strip sets, dark / light / dark.

STEP 2 Using 6 light gray strips and 3 dark gray strips, make 3 strip sets, light / dark / light.

STEP 3 Cross-cut all strip sets into 3½˝ units. Use 2 units from Step 1 and 1 unit from Step 2 to make a Nine-Patch. Make 28 blocks. Fig. A

Block Accents

An accent piece is sewn to one side of each Nine-Patch block and blue alternate block. This is done improv-style, so precision is not necessary.
